Description

Domaine Tempier is the authority for Mourvèdre-based red wines in Bandol. "Lulu & Lucien" is the new name for the classic cuvée (formerly "Classique"), honoring Lulu Peyraud. Each grape variety is fully destemmed, spontaneously fermented in concrete or stainless steel tanks, then aged for 18 months in large, used foudres – an archetypal Bandol, profound and terroir-driven.

In the glass, it displays a rich, dark red-purple hue. The nose offers intense aromas of dark forest berries, blackberries, and cherries, accompanied by smoky minerality, lavender, licorice, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it impresses with a voluminous texture, powerful yet polished tannins, piquant spice, and subtle freshness – culminating in a long, smooth finish.

Origin in Focus

Provence

Provence in south-eastern France is famous for its light-filled landscapes, Mediterranean climate and, above all, elegant rosé wines. On limestone-rich to schistous soils, cooled by the Mistral, juicy, delicately dry rosés are produced with aromas of red berries, citrus and garrigue herbs. Important appellations include Côtes de Provence, Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence and Bandol; the latter is also known for structured red wines made from Mourvèdre.
