Domaines Ott embodies a passion for wine and a deeply rooted family history since 1896, when Marcel Ott, an agricultural engineer from Alsace, realized his dream on the Mediterranean coast. Since the merger with the champagne house Louis Roederer in 2004, Christian and Jean François Ott, now the fourth generation, have continued to manage the three wineries in Provence. They uphold the tradition of gentle and sustainable viticulture, enhanced by biodynamic practices. Recognized for its excellence, Domaines Ott was named European Winery of the Year 2022 by Wine Enthusiast – a historic achievement as the first rosé producer to be awarded this title.

Domaines Ott

Domaines Ott is one of Provence’s most renowned estates and was founded in 1912 by Marcel Ott, an Alsatian agricultural engineer with a vision of bringing traditional Mediterranean grape varieties back to greatness. Over the course of the 20th century, the family acquired three exceptional estates: Château de Selle, Clos Mireille and Château Romassan.

These three terroirs – two in the AOC Côtes de Provence and one in Bandol – shape the unmistakable style of Ott wines through sparse soils, proximity to the sea and intense sunshine.

Today, Domaines Ott stands for rosé, white and red wines of crystalline precision, Mediterranean elegance and exceptional finesse. The wines are among the most sought-after in Provence and enjoy cult status worldwide, not least thanks to the iconic Coeur de Grain style that helped define modern premium rosé.

Origin in Focus

Provence

Provence in south-eastern France is famous for its light-filled landscapes, Mediterranean climate and, above all, elegant rosé wines. On limestone-rich to schistous soils, cooled by the Mistral, juicy, delicately dry rosés are produced with aromas of red berries, citrus and garrigue herbs. Important appellations include Côtes de Provence, Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence and Bandol; the latter is also known for structured red wines made from Mourvèdre.
