Description

France / Burgundy

As early as the 1998 vintage, winemaker Anne Claude Leflaive converted to sustainable viticulture. Since then, she has been considered a pioneer and icon of sustainability. Today, the winery is run by Brice de La Morandière, the fourth generation of the family. He is guided by the family philosophy of being respectful of nature and consistently increasing the quality of the vines and wines. Domaine Leflaive is one of Burgundy's cult wineries, with the best plots in Puligny and wines that are among the highest quality in the region. However, production is tiny, with demand far exceeding supply.

Domaine Leflaive

Domaine Leflaive is one of Burgundy’s most important white-wine estates and the embodiment of great Chardonnay craftsmanship. Based in Puligny-Montrachet, the domaine owns outstanding sites such as Chevalier-, Bâtard- and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet as well as numerous Premier Crus. The limestone-rich, finely structured soils give the wines their famous tension, depth and elegance. Since the early 2000s, the estate has worked consistently biodynamically – an approach that has further enhanced purity, expression and longevity.

The domaine’s style: crystalline precision, fine salinity, structured finesse and an unmistakably energetic profile. Leflaive wines are among the longest-lived and most sought-after Chardonnays in the world and continue to set benchmarks for terroir-driven white wines.

Origin in Focus

Burgundy

The Burgundy (Bourgogne) wine region is shaped by small parcels and historic vineyards. The focus here is on two grape varieties – Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – which reflect soil, climate and craftsmanship with exceptional transparency.

Between Dijon and Mâcon, a narrow band of vineyards stretches for around 250 km, each with its own distinctive character.
