Description

Italy / Tuscany

The Dievole Chianti Classico 2022 embodies the essence of Tuscany: a deep ruby red, a bouquet of ripe cherries, plums, and violets, complemented by subtle herbal and spice notes. On the palate, the wine is harmonious and smooth, with precise, silky tannins and a lively acidity that carries it through to the long finish.

Monteraponi

The Monteraponi estate lies high above Radda in Chianti, surrounded by woodland and old terraced vineyards on lean limestone and Galestro soils. In this cool, wind-exposed microclimate, finely woven, energetic Chianti Classico wines are produced with elegance clearly taking precedence over opulence. Farming is strictly organic and all grapes are harvested by hand. In the cellar, Monteraponi uses concrete and large, used oak casks, spontaneous fermentation, long maceration and gentle, unfiltered bottling – without showy barrique influence. The wines are purist, traditional interpretations of Sangiovese with a small proportion of indigenous partners such as Canaiolo: juicy and mineral, with cool red-fruit aromas, fine tannins and impressive ageing potential. Monteraponi is now regarded as a benchmark for traditional, authentic Chianti Classico with Burgundian finesse.

Origin in Focus

Tuscany

Tuscany is one of Italy’s defining wine regions, known for Sangiovese and iconic appellations such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Mediterranean climate with sea breezes and diverse soils produces elegant, fresh wines with structure. On the coast, ‘Super Tuscans’ are also made from Cabernet, Merlot and other varieties. In addition to red wines, the region offers characterful whites such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Vermentino, as well as the traditional dessert wine Vin Santo. The result: tradition meets innovation – with clear terroir expression and great drinking pleasure.
