Description

France / Côtes du Rhône / Costières de Nîmes

This traditional Château in the South of France is located in an exceptionally beautiful setting amidst peaceful landscapes and natural clearings. A place where time seems to stand still. Vianney and Emilie Castan named their company "Joseph Castan Fine Wine" after Vianney's great-grandfather, who was a winemaker. When their youngest daughter Lilou was born, they acquired Château Saint-Louis La Perdrix, their second home, a place where families share their passion for viticulture, celebrate family festivities, and create many shared memories. They see themselves as guardians of their vineyards, which they cultivate sustainably, so that future generations have the opportunity to build upon what they themselves have created.

Château Saint Louis La Perdrix

Château Saint Louis La Perdrix lies in Entre-Deux-Mers and stands for elegant, accessible Bordeaux wines with a modern, clear style. The vineyards are shaped by clay and limestone soils, giving the wines structure, freshness and harmonious minerality. Merlot usually dominates the cuvées and provides juicy, soft fruit, while Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc add depth, fine tannins and aromatic tension. Vinification is careful and gentle, resulting in balanced, fruit-driven and pleasantly drinkable wines. Château Saint Louis La Perdrix offers authentic Bordeaux quality with charm and great drinking pleasure.

Origin in Focus

Rhône

The Rhône is divided into two distinctive parts: the northern Rhône, with steep terraces and a cooler climate, and the southern Rhône, with Mediterranean warmth and wide plains.

In the north, Syrah dominates, producing powerful, spicy red wines.

In the south, blends are the focus, above all Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, ranging from juicy and spicy to powerful and complex.

Well-known appellations include Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Côtes du Rhône, which stand for accessible, versatile wines. Herbal garrigue notes, dark berry fruit and fine spice are typical aromatic profiles.
