Description
France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Margaux
The origins of Château Prieuré-Lichine date back to the Middle Ages, when monks planted vines for altar wine in what was then marshland. The land was only drained by the Dutch in the 17th century. Until his death, the château was owned by Alexis Lichine, who was considered the wine pope of his time and author of the famous "l'Encyclopédie mondiale des Vins". In 1999, the château was bought by the Ballande family , which it still owns today. Since the complete renovation of the wine cellar was completed in 2013, each plot has been vinified individually. The château's wines show finesse and elegance while being consolidated and concentrated.
