Description
France / Bordeaux / Margaux
The origins of Château Prieuré-Lichine date back to the Middle Ages, when monks planted vines for mass wine in what was then marshland. The land was not drained until the 17th century by the Dutch. Until his death, the Château was owned by Alexis Lichine, who was considered a wine pope in his time and is the author of the famous "l'Encyclopédie mondiale des Vins". In 1999, the Château was bought by the Ballande family, who still own it today. Since the complete renovation of the wine cellar in 2013, each plot has been vinified individually. The Château's wines show finesse and elegance, and are at the same time established and concentrated.
