Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 2022

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, affectionately known as Pichon Comtesse, is one of Pauillac’s iconic estates and has been classified as a 2ème Grand Cru Classé since 1855. The terroir of deep gravel over clay provides ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot; the comparatively high proportion of Merlot gives the wine its characteristic softer, more seductive style. The wines show dark fruit, cassis, cedar, floral nuances and a silky-dense tannin structure that has made Pichon Comtesse famous worldwide. Under the Rouzaud family of Roederer, the estate has been extensively modernised and now focuses on sustainable precision, meticulous parcel work and selective vinification. The wines are among the most elegant, harmonious and long-lived crus of the Médoc.
