Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Saint-Émilion
This historic winery is located at the end of the famous Côte Pavie, in the commune of Saint-Laurent-des-Combes. The terraced vineyard is situated in a prime south-facing position, protected from north winds. Since 1945, Hélène Gratiot and then her son Jacques-Olivier have preserved the unique character of this terroir, which produces perfectly balanced wines with surprising power and intense fruit aromas. Since 2002, when Nicolas Thienpont took over management and Stéphane Derenoncourt was brought in as a consultant, Larcis-Ducasse has entered a new phase. Since then, sustainable practices have been implemented in the vineyard, yields have been restricted, and only the highest quality grapes are selected for the Grand Vin.
