Château Lagrange 2016

Château Lagrange is a classic Third Growth in Saint-Julien, whose extensive, contiguous vineyards lie on deep Günz gravel with a sandy-loamy subsoil. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates, complemented by Merlot and Petit Verdot; the parcels are precisely mapped and farmed sustainably. Selective hand harvesting, a gravity-flow cellar, parcel-by-parcel vinification and restrained ageing in French oak preserve clarity and finesse. Stylistically, Lagrange shows the noble Saint-Julien signature: cool cassis fruit, cedarwood, graphite, floral hints and taut, silky tannins with excellent ageing potential.
