Château La Gaffelière

Château La Gaffelière is one of Saint-Émilion’s most traditional estates and has belonged to the Malet-Roquefort family for more than 300 years. The property sits ideally at the southern foot of the famous limestone plateau, where clay-limestone soils alternate with warm, gravelly parcels – an exceptional terroir that gives the wine its balance of freshness, depth and aromatic complexity.

The grape-variety focus is on Merlot and a high proportion of Cabernet Franc, which brings elegance, spice and precise floral aromatics. In the vineyard, the château works with great care and almost Burgundian parcel precision. Modern cellar technology combines precision with respect for the site’s identity, preserving the wines’ typical slender yet profound style.

Today, Château La Gaffelière stands for refined Saint-Émilion elegance: clear, layered wines with great expression, silky structure and impressive longevity – true ambassadors of their unique terroir.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
