Château Kirwan Grand Cru Classe 2014
Description
Description
Sir John Collingwood, one of the first wine merchants in Bordeaux, founded the château. When his daughter married Irishman Mark Kirwan, it was renamed Château Kirwan. Only once in its history was the winery owned by a Frenchman, the mayor of Bordeaux, Camille Godard. Today the château belongs to the Schyler family, a wine merchant family from Hamburg. The Grand Vin is made from grapes from the best plots of the vineyard. The fruit is harvested twice by hand and then vinified in separate batches according to each vineyard plot. Described by Bordeaux lovers as elegant, silky and well-structured, it is considered a classic example of a Margaux.
