Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Pauillac
Grand-Puy-Lacoste is one of the oldest châteaux in Médoc. The vineyards are located on a large gravel-covered hill called "grand-puy". This gravelly soil has the advantage of absorbing heat during the day and releasing it to the grapes at night, promoting uniform ripening of the grapes. An ideal terroir for great wines. The château has belonged to the Borie family since 1978 and has been managed by François-Xavier Borie since its acquisition. He has elevated Grand-Puy-Lacoste back to the level of a "great Pauillac" and, through meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar, ensures that it retains this status. As an absolute exception in the Médoc region, François-Xavier lives with his family at the château.
