Description

France / Bordeaux / Saint-Estèphe

Louis Gaspard d'Estournel inherited Cos d'Estournel in 1791. Convinced that the terroir of the hill was exceptional, Louis acquired neighboring plots to expand his estate to 45 hectares. The 1855 Bordeaux Classification ranked Cos d'Estournel as a Deuxième Cru. Since 2000, the owner has been Michel Reybier. Les Pagodes de Cos is the château's second wine. Until bottling, half of the wine matures for 12 to 14 months in oak barrels previously used by the Grand Vin Cos d’Estournel. The 2014 vintage of Les Pagodes de Cos is undoubtedly one of the best of the last ten years.
