Description

France / Bordeaux / Pomerol

Clinet, one of the oldest châteaux in Pomerol, is situated high up on the famous plateau in the heart of Pomerol. In the vineyards, vines up to 85 years old grow on sandy loam and gravel soils, whose nutrients and minerals produce almost magical wines. Every grape that enters the winery undergoes a strict selection process. And the must from each parcel is vinified and aged separately to preserve the unique terroir character. This is followed by the blending of the wines from the various parcels. This creates balanced cuvées with their complex aromas and incomparable character. A vintage may be unpredictable, but the identity of Clinet is unmistakable.

Château Clinet

Château Clinet is one of the most distinctive and renowned estates in Pomerol. Situated on the famous plateau, it benefits from iron-rich clay soils and ancient Merlot vines that give the wines their characteristic depth and opulent elegance.

Since the 1990s, Clinet has experienced an impressive qualitative renaissance: precise vineyard work, selective harvesting and a modern, finely tuned ageing regime produce wines that rank among the most powerful and harmonious in the appellation.

Stylistically, Château Clinet combines rich dark fruit, silky texture and lush concentration with remarkable freshness. Merlot plays the leading role, supported by small proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc that add structure and complexity.

Today Clinet is considered a flagship of Pomerol – an estate that unites tradition, precision and charismatic depth in every bottle.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
