Chateau Cantemerle 2018
Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Haut-Médoc
At the beginning of the D2 road into the Médoc lies Château Cantemerle, one of the most charming and oldest châteaux among the Grand Cru Classé in Bordeaux. The magnificent property fell into disrepair over many decades until it found a new owner in the 1980s. Replanting of the vineyards and large investments in the cellar led ChâteauCantemerle to the top of the Médoc again in terms of quality. The vines that were planted in the 1980s are now producing high quality crops. According to director Philippe Dambrine, the difference is obvious: "now we discover how Cantemerle must have tasted in 1855."
