Château Calon Ségur 2014
Description
Description
As one of the oldest wineries in the Médoc, the viticultural history of this 3ème Cru Classé Château dates back to the 12th century. The excellent wines of Château Calon-Ségur were also well-known at the Palace of Versailles. King Louis XV called the owner, Nicolas-Alexandre Marquis de Ségur, "Prince of the Vines". The Marquis also owned Châteaux Latour and Lafite. He is famously quoted as saying, "I make wine at Lafite and Latour, but my heart is in Calon-Ségur." This is why the Château's name on the label is surrounded by a heart. Calon-Ségur, the Grand Vin, is a reflection of the estate and embodies that delicate balance between softness and intensity.
