Description

France / Bordeaux / Saint-Émilion

Château Bélair-Monange is one of the most renowned wineries in Saint-Émilion and belongs to the esteemed Moueix family, who also own Château Pétrus.

The name "Monange" honors the family and symbolizes the tradition and exceptional terroir of this historic winery. The unique limestone and clay soils give the wine unparalleled elegance, depth, and minerality.

The 23.5-hectare vineyards are planted with old Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines, which yield only small quantities. This results in strictly limited quantities of this complex, structured wine with great aging potential.

Château Bélair-Monange

Château Bélair-Monange is considered one of Saint-Émilion’s most historic and at the same time most dynamic estates. The property’s roots go back more than two millennia; the Roman terraces and legendary limestone subsoil still shape the wine’s unmistakable style today.

In 2008, the Moueix family took over the historic estate and united two great names, Bélair and Magdelaine, under the Bélair-Monange banner. Since then, the château has undergone an impressive renaissance: extensive cellar renovations, a precise reinterpretation of the parcels and quality-focused vineyard management have lifted the estate into the top tier of the appellation.

The vines, especially Merlot and Cabernet Franc, root deeply in the fractured limestone plateau and clay-rich slopes. This exceptional terroir gives the wines their typical combination of elegance, freshness, density and great longevity. Today, Château Bélair-Monange is one of the style-defining Premier Grand Cru Classé A estates, masterfully combining historical substance with modern precision.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
