Description

France / Bordeaux / Saint-Émilion

In the 19th century, the château began to rise in the classification of Saint-Émilion, outstripping its competitors in the region. Château Ausone is one of only four Premier Grand Cru Classé "A" wineries in the top class of Saint-Émilion. Chapelle d'Ausone is the second wine from Château Ausone. It is vinified in the same way as its big brother. During cuveéing, special attention is paid to ensuring that fruity notes with a lot of freshness emerge, because it is drunk primarily for pleasure. Nothing is added to the wine to allow it to express itself naturally. This is clearly proven by the wonderful drinking flow of this wine.

Château Ausone

Château Ausone The history of Château Ausone dates back to ancient Rome, when the estate was known as the “Villa d'Alsune”. Since the Middle Ages, it has had a long tradition of viticulture, but it was not until the 18th century that it became known as Château Ausone and soon gained a reputation for its exceptional wines. In the 19th century, the château began to rise in the Saint-Émilion classification and outperformed its competitors in the region. Château Ausone is one of only four Premier Grand Cru Classé “A” estates in the top class of Saint-Émilion. Today, Château Ausone is owned by the Vauthier family and managed by Alain Vauthier, who has taken the estate to new heights in recent decades. Under his leadership, Château Ausone has produced a remarkable series of top wines that are known for their complexity, elegance and longevity. Château Ausone's second wine Chapelle d'Ausone is also a masterpiece of its kind. It is vinified in exactly the same way as its big brother. During the blending process, particular care is taken to ensure that fruity notes with plenty of freshness come to the fore, as it is drunk primarily for enjoyment.
