Description

Italy / Veneto / Valpolicella Classico Superiore

North of Verona, narrow roads wind through the landscape to the small, well-hidden winery in the village of Negrar. A few hectares of vines thrive here in the best locations of the Valpolicella region on limestone and basalt soils. At Quintarelli, every wine is traditionally aged and given the time it needs to meet the high standards of the winemaking family. In 60 years, founder Giuseppe Quintarelli has shaped one of the most legendary wineries in Veneto. The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico is only produced in the best years. The best grapes are selected during the manual harvest in autumn and laid out on straw mats to dry until January. The wine then matures for years in wooden barrels. This results in a concentrated, complex, great Amarone – typical of Quintarelli.

Bertani

Bertani is one of Veneto's great historic estates, based near Verona in the hills of Valpolicella Classico. Since the 19th century, the house has helped shape the region's style, especially Amarone. From Corvina, Rondinella and other local varieties, Bertani produces Valpolicella and Amarone that combine power and elegance: dark cherry, red berries, dried fruit, herbs and finely integrated oak, always supported by surprisingly fresh acidity. Amarone matures for a long time in barrel and bottle, giving it depth, complexity and excellent ageing potential. The range is complemented by classic Veneto wines such as Soave and Ripasso. In the vineyard, Bertani focuses on careful yield control and selective harvesting; in the cellar, traditional long ageing is combined with modern precision. Ideal for customers seeking timeless, authentic Veneto icons with both drinking pleasure and ageing potential.

Origin in Focus

Veneto

Veneto in north-eastern Italy combines Alpine coolness and Adriatic mildness – ideal for a wide variety of styles. Famous examples include sparkling wines from the Prosecco area (Glera), fragrant Soave whites (Garganega) and Valpolicella reds from Corvina, Rondinella and other varieties. These include fruity Valpolicella, concentrated Amarone (made from partially dried grapes) and spicy, slender Ripasso. Fresh, versatile wines are also produced in the Colli Berici and around Lake Garda.
