Tenute del Cabreo

Tenute del Cabreo belongs to the Folonari family portfolio and is located in the hills around Greve in Chianti. At elevated sites with Galestro and Alberese soils, modern Super Tuscans are produced that combine Tuscan origin with international refinement. At the heart of the estate is Il Borgo, a cuvée of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon: dark cherry, cassis, fine herbal spice, silky yet present tannins and perfectly integrated barrique. La Pietra, a single-varietal Chardonnay, shows a Burgundian feel with ripe yellow fruit, subtle roasted notes, creamy texture and saline minerality. Low yields, careful hand harvesting and precise ageing in French oak shape the style: powerful but never heavy, always focused on balance and elegance. Ideal for customers seeking characterful yet finely polished Super Tuscans with reliable food-pairing potential.

Origin in Focus

Tuscany

Tuscany is one of Italy’s defining wine regions, known for Sangiovese and iconic appellations such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Mediterranean climate with sea breezes and diverse soils produces elegant, fresh wines with structure. On the coast, ‘Super Tuscans’ are also made from Cabernet, Merlot and other varieties. In addition to red wines, the region offers characterful whites such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Vermentino, as well as the traditional dessert wine Vin Santo. The result: tradition meets innovation – with clear terroir expression and great drinking pleasure.
