The deep purple-black cask sample of the 2016 Cask 23 shows convincing notes of freshly pressed red and black currants, black cherries, kirsch and mocha with nuances of Marmite toast, roasted nuts, undergrowth and truffles. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied and has a very firm framework of super ripe tannins that support the complex flavors, and ends in an epically long finish. Beautiful.
