Grattamacco Vermentino Bolgheri DOC 2023

Grattamacco, one of Bolgheri’s historic estates, is among the most important producers on the Tuscan coast. Since 1977, it has produced characterful wines that unite Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc with Tuscan terroir. The vineyards lie on hills between 100 and 200 m above sea level, where sea breezes, cool nights and limestone- and clay-rich soils create ideal conditions. Grattamacco wines combine power and elegance: dark fruit, fine spice, lively acidity and polished tannins. Alongside the iconic Grattamacco Rosso, the Bolgheri Rosso and white wines also impress with depth and balance. The estate is a firm fixture among the Super Tuscans and an ambassador for Bolgheri’s Mediterranean finesse.

Tuscany is one of Italy’s defining wine regions, known for Sangiovese and iconic appellations such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Mediterranean climate with sea breezes and diverse soils produces elegant, fresh wines with structure. On the coast, ‘Super Tuscans’ are also made from Cabernet, Merlot and other varieties. In addition to red wines, the region offers characterful whites such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Vermentino, as well as the traditional dessert wine Vin Santo.
