Hubert de Boüard-de-Laforêt was born at Château Angélus and spent his childhood among the vines. Today he is a winemaker, oenologist and co-owner of the world-famous Premier Grand Cru Classé family estate.

Hubert de Boüard also works as a consultant for other estates in Bordeaux and around the world, exerting his unique influence on the development of some of the finest wines in the world. His expertise, commitment and vision have made him a key figure in Bordeaux wine and cemented his reputation as one of the greatest oenologists of his generation.

He produces only limited quantities of his own wines in order to preserve authenticity, bottling these small releases under his own name.

Each parcel is cultivated in a way that protects the surrounding ecosystems and allows the grapes to be harvested by hand at the best possible level of ripeness.

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
