Description

Italy / Tuscany / Bolgheri

Angelo Gaja bears the name of his grandfather, who founded the winery in Piedmont in the mid-19th century. When his grandson took over the family business in 1969, he rigorously shifted the focus of work in the vineyard and cellar to quality. His success proved him right, and today he is considered a living legend, with the affectionate honorary title "Angelo nazionale." Since 1996, the cult winemaker has also cultivated top sites in the Tuscan Maremma. For the family, which thinks and acts in generations, promoting biodiversity and respectful interaction with nature is a matter of course here too. The Cru wine, and thus the Super-Tuscan of the eponymous winery, is the Camarcanda.
