Frank John is an oenologist and cellar master at the young, small family winery Hirschhorner Weinkontor. Together with his wife and two children, he runs the 3-hectare winery biodynamically. The John family produces a small, fine selection of wines - a Riesling, a Pinot Noir and two sparkling wines. All wines are given plenty of time to ferment spontaneously without intervention and to rest on the yeast for a long time. The result is characterful, finesse-rich and well-balanced great wines of the old school with aging potential. The grapes for the Pinot Noir come exclusively from Palatinate sites with a high lime content. The result is a clear, spicy, multi-faceted Pinot Noir with depth.
