Dr. Heger is one of Baden’s most renowned estates and is especially known for outstanding Burgundy varieties from the top sites of the Kaiserstuhl. The volcanic soils around Ihringen give the wines distinctive minerality, depth and warmth, while precise vineyard work and gentle vinification ensure elegance and finesse. Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc are among the estate’s flagships, impressing with structure, aromatics and excellent ageing potential. For generations, the Heger family has stood for the highest quality, sustainable farming and a clear, terroir-driven style that has made the estate a fixture of Germany’s top wine landscape.

Baden is Germany’s southernmost and one of its warmest wine regions, stretching along the Upper Rhine from Kraichgau to Lake Constance. The mild climate and varied soils – from loess and limestone to volcanic rock in the Kaiserstuhl – allow for a broad range of styles. The focus is on Burgundy varieties: Spätburgunder for elegant to powerful reds, Grauburgunder and Weißburgunder for juicy, balanced white wines.

The nine subregions, including Kaiserstuhl, Tuniberg, Markgräflerland, Ortenau and Tauberfranken, show individual profiles, from mineral tension to a ripe, Mediterranean character.
