Domaine Moly

Domaine Moly is a young but highly exciting estate in the Loire’s Saumur region. After years in California and New Zealand, Etienne and Aurélia Moly realised their dream of owning a winery and deliberately chose the cool limestone slopes around Saumur. The vines grow on Tuffeau and limestone-influenced soils, giving the wines freshness, finesse and a distinctive minerality. The focus is on Cabernet Franc reds from Saumur and Saumur-Champigny – such as La Nomade, Les Sybarites and Alter Sybarites – which impress with cool red fruit, floral notes, herbal spice and a very precise, silky tannin structure. Fermentation is spontaneous, followed by ageing in larger barrels, with noticeable but never dominant oak influence. The result is exceptionally clear, elegant Loire red wine with Burgundian ambition, ideal for discerning explorers and fine cuisine.

Origin in Focus

Loire

The Loire is a vast and diverse wine region that stretches along France’s longest river from Nantes to Sancerre. The cool to moderate climate and varied soils shape fresh, elegant wine styles. Famous examples include crisp Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, Chenin Blanc wines from Vouvray and Anjou, and fragrant Muscadet from the Atlantic-influenced Pays Nantais. Among the reds, Cabernet Franc from Chinon, Bourgueil and Saumur dominates with cool fruit and fine spice, accompanied by rosés and Crémants with lively freshness.

The Loire stands for clarity, balance and excellent price-to-pleasure value – ideal with fish, goat’s cheese and seasonal bistro cuisine.
