Clos la Madeleine

Clos la Madeleine is a small, refined Grand Cru Classé on the edge of the historic town of Saint-Émilion. The vineyards lie spectacularly on the limestone cliff and root deeply in sparse, limestone-rich soils, giving the wines tension, freshness and distinctive minerality. Merlot dominates the cuvée and provides juicy dark fruit, elegant fullness and silky tannins, while Cabernet Franc adds structure, spice and aromatic complexity. Stylistically, the wines stand for finesse rather than opulence: fine berry aromas, floral notes, cool limestone precision and a long, clear finish. Careful handwork in the vineyard and gentle vinification make Clos la Madeleine one of the most charming, terroir-driven addresses in Saint-Émilion.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
