Description

France / Bordeaux / Graves / Sauternes

At the foot of the hill where Château d'Yquem is located, the vineyards of Château Suduiraut extend. The noble sweet wine is made from selected grapes from the most prestigious parcels. The sandy and gravelly vineyard soil retains very little water, leading to low yields and concentrated wines. The sun's warmth is captured by the gravel, thus helping the grapes achieve optimal ripeness. It is this unique terroir that gives the wine its outstanding opulence and distinct minerality. As a Premier Cru Classé Château, Suduiraut is one of the best wineries in Sauternes, and its Grand Vin is among the best Sauternes wines.

Château Suduiraut

Château Suduiraut, a Premier Cru Classé from Sauternes, is one of the leading producers of noble sweet Bordeaux wines. The vineyards lie on gravelly and sandy soils around the famous Château d’Yquem, where the microclimate favours the development of the noble rot Botrytis cinerea. Sémillon dominates the cuvée and provides richness, creaminess and exotic aromas, while Sauvignon Blanc brings freshness and tension. Suduiraut’s wines are known for their opulent texture, intense honey, apricot and citrus notes, as well as impressive depth and longevity. Precise hand harvesting in several passes and careful barrel ageing create noble sweet wines of timeless elegance – powerful, complex and exceptionally harmonious.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
