The 2017 Petit Village is medium to deep garnet in color and needs a little coaxing to reveal aromas of baked blackberries, boysenberries and plum jam, as well as hints of Sichuan pepper, undergrowth and iron ore. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a generous amount of black fruit with a solid, grainy frame and nice freshness, finishing long with a spicy kick.
