Château du Domaine de L'Eglise

Château du Domaine de L’Eglise is one of the oldest estates in Pomerol and lies in close proximity to the appellation’s most famous terroirs. The vineyards are shaped by gravelly-sandy soils with a high proportion of clay, giving Merlot – the dominant grape here – ideal conditions. The wines show typical Pomerol character: dense, ripe fruit, silky texture, fine tannins and remarkable harmony. Cabernet Franc adds further tension, depth and aromatic complexity. Through careful vineyard work and precise vinification, elegant, powerful and long-lived wines are produced that authentically express the special terroir of the Right Bank.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
