Château d’Yquem

Château d’Yquem is the only estate in Sauternes with the top classification Premier Cru Supérieur.

For centuries, this noble sweet wine has been a legend and today ranks among the most coveted wines in the world. The history of Château d’Yquem is shaped by more than 400 years of viticulture. In the Middle Ages, the estate belonged to the English king, but since 1453 the château has once again been in French hands.

Today, the estate benefits from its special soils, ancient vines and distinctive microclimate. Château d’Yquem stands for an uncompromising commitment to quality. Meticulous selection of the best grapes in the vineyard is followed by rigorous selection of the finest barrels in the cellar. From a single vine, just enough must is obtained for one glass of wine.

Alongside the 2015 vintage, Parker awarded 100 points only to the 1945 and 2009 vintages.
