Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Saint-Estéphe
The Château is named after its owner, Louis Gaspard d'Estournel, whose travels to the Orient significantly influenced the design of the estate and earned him the nickname "Maharaja of St. Estèphe." Visitors are greeted by the "Indian Elephant" statue as they approach the Château, and the elephant is also present in the beautifully designed tasting room. Michel Reybier, who has owned the property since 2000, has remained true to Louis Gaspard's avant-garde style. Furthermore, he has massively increased the quality of the wines. Less than 1000 cases of Cos d'Estournel's white wine are produced annually, made from grapes from the Goulee vineyard in northern Médoc.
