Château Climens 2015

Château Climens is located in the heart of the renowned Sauternes wine region in Bordeaux. Since its founding, only five families have owned this Premier Cru château, which explains its unique and continuous quality over the centuries.

Under the expert leadership of Bérénice Lurton, who took over the estate from her father in 1992, Château Climens has undergone remarkable development. The year 2010 marked a decisive turning point in the estate’s history, when Bérénice Lurton boldly decided to convert the entire vineyard operation to biodynamics.

This commitment to sustainability and ecological responsibility is reflected not only in the incomparable character of its wines, but was also honoured with the coveted Bordeaux Best Of Wine Tourism Gold Award for sustainable wine tourism practices.

The château is proud to be certified both organic and biodynamic, underlining its deep connection to nature and terroir. Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
