Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Saint-Émilion
Château Canon-la-Gaffelière is located on a slope south of the medieval town of Saint-Émilion. Its terroir consists of clay-limestone and clay-sand soils with an extremely high thermal capacity. The almost perfect balance of varieties between Merlot and Cabernet, which is due to this type of soil, is rather atypical for the appellation. However, on the warm, early-ripening soils of Canon-la-Gaffelière, the Cabernets can unfold superbly, complementing the opulence of the Merlots with extraordinary power and aromatic complexity. This is where the natural elegance and finesse of Canon-la-Gaffelière wines come from. The 2014 is the château's first certified organic wine.
