Château Beausejour Duffau 2020

Château Beauséjour Duffau-Lagarrosse is a historic, family-shaped estate on the high limestone plateau directly above Saint-Émilion. The vineyard area is small and divided into high-quality parcels: Merlot dominates, complemented by Cabernet Franc.

In the vineyard, the estate relies on finely balanced precision work: detailed soil mapping, selective canopy management, strict yield control and very careful hand harvesting. In the cellar, gentle extraction is used – often with a high proportion of whole berries, cool fermentation temperatures and careful parcel-by-parcel vinification. Ageing takes place in French oak with restraint, with the proportion of new barrels chosen to provide structure without masking the delicate limestone signature.

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
