Description

Chateau Ausone 1er Gr.Cr.Cl.A - 2000 - Lobenberg's Fine Wines In the 19th century, the Château began to rise in the Saint-Émilion classification, surpassing its competitors in the region. Then followed inheritance disputes, which escalated into outright family feuds. As money was invested more in lawyers than in the vineyards, quality continued to suffer. It was not until the 1990s that the dispute was settled and the Château was awarded to Alain Vaulthier. He has increased Ausone's quality year after year by knowing how to utilize the fabulous terroir of the small winery. Today, the rare Grand Cru consistently ranks among the best wines of Bordeaux in every vintage.
