Profile:

Tenuta Tignanello

This estate in the heart of Chianti Classico is considered the birthplace of the modern Super Tuscan. At an elevation of around 350–400 metres, on lean Galestro and Alberese soils, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grow under ideal conditions: sunny days, cool nights and excellent ventilation. The flagship “Tignanello” combines the red-cherry fruit, acidity and spice of Sangiovese with the density and tannic backbone of the Cabernets – a wine with dark berry fruit, tobacco, herbs, graphite and fine oak. The grapes are rigorously selected, vinified parcel by parcel and aged predominantly in French oak. The result is powerful yet remarkably balanced cuvées with a long finish and excellent ageing potential. These wines are essential for lovers of iconic, internationally acclaimed Tuscan wines.

Focus on origin

Tuscany

Tuscany is one of Italy’s defining wine regions, known for Sangiovese and iconic appellations such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Mediterranean climate with sea breezes and diverse soils produces elegant, fresh wines with structure. On the coast, ‘Super Tuscans’ are also made from Cabernet, Merlot and other varieties. In addition to red wines, the region offers characterful whites such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Vermentino, as well as the traditional dessert wine Vin Santo. The result: tradition meets innovation – with clear terroir expression and great drinking pleasure.
