Description
Description
Italy / Tuscany
High-quality extra virgin olive oil from Tenuta San Guido, globally renowned for its Sassicaia wine. The olives come from the hills Nahe Bolgheri in Livorno. The olive groves on the estate are arranged in a mixed layout, as is traditional in Tuscan agriculture for larger wineries and farms. The olive trees of the Leccino, Moraiolo, Pendolino, and Frantoio varieties are not planted densely together in dedicated groves but stand in rows alternating with fields or vineyards. The total number of olive trees on the farm is approximately 8,000. About 2,000 of these are only of landscape and soil protection value, as they are located in difficult-to-cultivate areas.
