Description

Italy / Tuscany / Maremma

The vineyards of Tenuta di Biserno are situated at high altitudes, directly adjacent to Ornellaia. On the mineral-rich and rocky soils of volcanic origin, Cabernet Franc ripens particularly well. For the Antinori brothers, Cabernet Franc is the most important grape variety because it produces distinctive, velvety wines. In the single vineyard Vigna Lodovico, the grapes for the winery's icon: Lodovico ripen. Absolutely outstanding for lovers of fine wines.

Tenuta di Biserno

Tenuta di Biserno, a renowned estate on the border of Bolgheri in Tuscany, was founded in 1995 by Lodovico Antinori, who became internationally known for his famous Ornellaia wines.

Originally, the vineyards were intended to become part of Ornellaia, but Antinori recognised the unique terroir and decided to start a separate estate project. Today, Tenuta di Biserno produces an impressive selection of Super Tuscan wines under the IGT Toscana designation.

The vineyard is located in the coastal Alta Maremma region, where the cooling influence of the Mediterranean can be felt. The soils, rich in limestone and calcium carbonate, provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot, which have grown here since 2003. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel before ageing in French oak and in bottle.

Biserno’s flagship wine is Insoglio del Cinghiale, a powerful cuvée of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Petit Verdot, produced only in the best vintages.
