Italy / Tuscany

This year, the "Sassicaia" cuvée consists of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Cabernet Franc. With the changing climate in Bolgheri, Cabernet Franc is playing an increasingly important role, bringing elegance, linearity, and radiance to the wine. The wine has become focused on fruit, salinity, and length, supported by dark fruit and ethereal notes, herbaceous scents and spices, as well as fresh blood orange, bergamot, and mint. On the palate, the wine appears incredibly open and inviting, sensual and juicy with great depth and a simultaneously hovering brightness – a stunningly enjoyable "Sassicaia"!

Origin in Focus

Tuscany

Tuscany is one of Italy’s defining wine regions, known for Sangiovese and iconic appellations such as Chianti Classico, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Mediterranean climate with sea breezes and diverse soils produces elegant, fresh wines with structure. On the coast, ‘Super Tuscans’ are also made from Cabernet, Merlot and other varieties. In addition to red wines, the region offers characterful whites such as Vernaccia di San Gimignano and Vermentino, as well as the traditional dessert wine Vin Santo. The result: tradition meets innovation – with clear terroir expression and great drinking pleasure.
