Description

Domaine Roc de l'Abbaye specializes in Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire – both from Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé. The vines grow in the heart of Pouilly Fumé, not far from the Loire, on the famous Kimmeridgian marl, a mixture of clay, sand, and loam. The wine is aged for six months in stainless steel tanks on its fine lees, without malolactic fermentation. The result is a fresh, harmonious white wine with pronounced minerality.

Domaine Roc de l'Abbaye

The Roc de l’Abbaye estate lies in the heart of Saint-Satur at the foot of the Sancerre hill and is led by Florian Mollet. With a special focus on the famous silex soils, elegant, terroir-driven Sauvignon Blancs with the characteristic flinty note are produced here. Vinification is carried out parcel by parcel, with the finest lots aged in the historic 17th-century barrel cellar in Burgundian 228-litre pièces. In addition to 11.5 hectares in Sancerre, the estate also cultivates vineyards in Pouilly-Fumé, Touraine, Quincy and Menetou-Salon, enabling a versatile and outstanding-quality collection. Florian Mollet masterfully brings the individual lots together into a harmonious whole – classic, precise and timelessly modern.
