The French négociant E. & M. Guigal was founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal in Ampuis, a small village in the heart of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. Étienne oversaw 67 vintages in Côte-Rôtie. His son Marcel Guigal took over in 1961 and contributed significantly to improving quality. Marcel Guigal became internationally renowned in the mid-1980s through the highest ratings from wine journalist Robert M. Parker. He is considered one of the best winemakers in the world. His son Philippe is now the oenologist of the domaine, and together with his wife Eve, he represents the third generation in the family business. The vineyards span 20 hectares on the best steep slopes of the Côte-Rôtie appellation.

The estate is located in Ampuis, in the heart of the northern Rhône Valley, on the steep slopes of the famous appellations Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Hermitage. The Guigal family is known for its dedication to the craft of viticulture and its passion for producing high-quality wines. The French négociant E. & M.
