Domaine de Cambes

Domaine de Cambes is the “secret project” of François Mitjavile (Tertre Roteboeuf) on the right bank of the Gironde and is an insider tip for characterful Bordeaux beyond the major appellations. The steep slopes near Côtes de Bourg are shaped by limestone and clay and benefit from the moderating influence of the nearby river. Merlot dominates the cuvée, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Stylistically, the wines stand for ripe dark fruit, warm spice, fine roasted aromas and a creamy yet tension-filled texture. Long barrel ageing and low yields provide depth, complexity and impressive longevity. Domaine de Cambes combines Right Bank opulence with Mitjavile’s distinctive, playful signature – ideal for lovers of sensual, individual Bordeaux.

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
