Château L'Egilse Clinet

Château L'Egilse Clinet
France | Bordeaux | Pomerol
Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker

The 2017 L'Eglise Clinet starts off a little closed and brooding, but soon develops bold notes of baked black plums, chocolate-covered cherries and blueberry jam with hints of charcoal grill, mocha and anise, as well as a touch of tar. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, a powerhouse of crisp, vibrant black fruit, framed by wonderfully ripe, round tannins and plenty of freshness, with a long and savoury finish. Bravo!
