Château Canon-la-Gaffelière

Château Canon-la-Gaffelière is one of the shining names of Saint-Émilion and has stood for a distinctly elegant, modern Bordeaux style for decades. The estate lies at the southern foot of Saint-Émilion’s famous slopes and benefits from an exceptionally diverse terroir of limestone-rich clay soils and warm sandy parcels. This combination gives the wines their characteristic mix of depth, finesse and aromatic precision.

Under the direction of Count Stephan von Neipperg, Château Canon-la-Gaffelière has become an internationally respected model estate. Careful vineyard work, organic farming and an uncompromising commitment to quality define its approach. The cuvées consistently show generous dark-fruited aromatics, silky tannins and remarkable balance – qualities that earned the estate its rank as Premier Grand Cru Classé.

Today Canon-la-Gaffelière stands for Bordeaux that respects tradition while interpreting it with contemporary sensitivity: authentic, complex and highly elegant.

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
