Description

South Africa / Stellenbosch

Four wine enthusiasts in South Africa decide to produce nothing less than one of the world's best wines. No other winery in the world makes comparable efforts, from hand-selection at the vine to gentle pressing, setting new standards in the fine wine world. It is South Africa's first Premier Cru. However, this level of quality can only be achieved with extremely limited production, and the wine is already among the rarest and most sought-after cult wines in the world. The exclusive 4G wines regularly outperform the great Premier Grand Crus from Bordeaux in blind tastings. 2016 is the last vintage under the direction of the famous oenology professor and winemaker (including Cheval Blanc, d'Yquem, and Margaux) Denis Dubourdieu. In his honor, the wine was named Le Capitaine, creating a fitting tribute to the charismatic professor and winemaker.

4G Wines

Four wine enthusiasts in South Africa set out to produce nothing less than one of the best wines in the world. No estate in the world invests comparable effort, from hand selection on the vine to gentle pressing, setting new standards in the fine wine world.

The 4G estate is located in the picturesque landscape of the Cape Winelands, where the mighty Table Mountains meet the gentle hills of the vineyards. In a short time, this exclusive estate has earned an outstanding reputation and stands for exceptional wines that impressively reveal the potential and uniqueness of South African terroir.

It is South Africa’s first Premier Cru that is produced here. This level of quality, however, can only be achieved in extremely limited production, and the wine is already among the rarest and most sought-after cult wines in the world. The exclusive wines of 4G regularly outperform the great Premier Grand Crus from Bordeaux in blind tastings.

2016 is the final vintage under the direction of the famous oenology professor and winemaker Denis Dubourdieu, known for his work with estates such as Cheval Blanc, d’Yquem and Margaux. In his honour, the wine was named Le Capitaine, creating a fitting tribute to the charismatic professor and winemaker.

The wines of 4G are a true reflection of South Africa’s beauty and diversity and a must for anyone who wants to experience the finesse and character of this special wine country.
