The 4G estate is located in the picturesque landscape of the Cape Winelands, where the mighty Table Mountains meet the gentle hills of the vineyards. It is South Africa’s first Premier Cru that is produced here. This level of quality, however, can only be achieved in extremely limited production, and the wine is already among the rarest and most sought-after cult wines in the world. The exclusive wines of 4G regularly outperform the great Premier Grand Crus from Bordeaux in blind tastings.

2016 is the final vintage under the direction of the famous oenology professor and winemaker Denis Dubourdieu, known for his work with estates such as Cheval Blanc, d’Yquem and Margaux. In his honour, the wine was named Le Capitaine, creating a fitting tribute to the charismatic professor and winemaker.
