Château Pavie Decesse Grand Cru Classé 2014

Château Pavie Before the first vines were planted on the “Pavie Hill” in Saint-Émilion, Pavie peaches grew there, giving the vineyard its name. The origins of Château Pavie date back to ancient times, when the Romans planted the first vineyards in this region. However, the estate itself experienced a heyday in the 19th century, when it gained prominence under the leadership of Ferdinand Bouffard. Bouffard recognized the immense potential of the terroir and used modern viticultural practices to constantly improve the quality of the wines. In 1998, the entrepreneur Gérard Perse acquired the château and invested heavily in modernizing the vineyard and cellar facilities, which further improved the quality of the wines. A quarter of the plots were replanted, the cellar modernized and further plots purchased. 70% of the vineyard is cultivated using sustainable methods. In 2012, the winery was rewarded for its quality offensive and was awarded “Premier Grand Cru Classé A”.
