Château d'Esclans – the winemakers who changed the world of rosé
Diversity and millennia-old tradition
Italy is not only one of the oldest wine countries in the world, but also one of the most diverse. From the Alpine north to the warm south, from the Mediterranean coasts to the higher elevations of the Apennines, hardly any other country offers such a broad range of grape varieties, climates, and wine styles. With more than 20 wine regions, over 400 indigenous grape varieties, and a deeply rooted culture of enjoyment, Italy is among the world’s most important wine producers.

The wines of Château d’Esclans
The estate's best-known wine is undoubtedly “Whispering Angel”. This rosé became a global phenomenon and is now one of the best-selling premium rosés in the world. Its style combines bright fruit, fine herbal aromas and elegant freshness with outstanding drinkability.
A step above are “Rock Angel” and “Château d’Esclans Rosé”. Both wines offer greater structure, depth and complexity and clearly demonstrate the estate's quality ambitions.
The true icon, however, is “Garrus”. This wine comes from old Grenache and Rolle parcels and is partly aged in large oak barrels. Garrus is considered one of the first rosé wines deliberately created to compete with the world's great white wines. Its aromas range from peach and apricot through citrus fruit to spices, herbs and fine toasted notes.
“Les Clans” and other cuvées further demonstrate just how diverse Provence rosé can be. What they share is exceptional precision, fine texture and a clear focus on origin.
